Or for children on holiday with their parents in Mallorca, perhaps the beginnings of a successful Formula One racing career! Go-karting is a high-thrill open wheel motorsport raced on scaled down motor circuits and is a popular activity in Majorca. You’ll find several go-karting tracks dotted throughout the island. A good example is Kartingmania set in the lovely Puerto Alcudia beach resort in the north of Mallorca.

The track is open from 9.30 in the morning until midnight and is suitable for all levels. The track features British Biz carts with unrestricted engines to guarantee lots of fun for all ages and abilities. Reservations are not needed – just turn up and you’re off. There is tuition for kids too, where the little ones are shown how to drive safely and are placed in suitable karts appropriate to their age and size.

Staying in the north of the island, you’ll find a fast and furious competition circuit at Karts Can Picafort. Children from 4 years old are welcomed, as are adults. There is also an interesting exhibition of vintage classic motorbikes on display for the enthusiast to enjoy. Open all year round from 10 am, there is a free car park, children’s playground and snack bar.

The highly popular beach resort of Magaluf is a magnet for go-karting enthusiasts on holiday in Mallorca. At Karting Magaluf there is a choice of circuits to suit all ages (from 3 years onwards) and you can organise group races too – especially if you wish to recreate that special ‘Formula One experience’.

One of Mallorca’s longest established go-karting tracks, Karting Magaluf has been providing thrills and spills since 1983. Café and bar facilities are available. The Mallorca Renn Arena is to be found in Llucmajor, about 10 miles east of the capital Palma. It is unique in that it not only offers go-karting at its best, but you can also bring your motorbike or car along to use on a track day on the adjacent Formula One circuit! The circuit is floodlit and there is a permanent grandstand holding up to 1000 spectators. Not the cheapest of go-karting arenas, but visitor reports have been glowing, describing the cars as ‘amazingly fast’.

All in all, go-karting in Mallorca is an activity that can be enjoyed by the whole family. It’s a great thing to do when the kids are getting bored or if ‘grown-ups’ want to relive their childhood dreams of being a racing driver.
