Cala Agulla is a beautiful beach surrounded by pine trees and mountains, situated in the municipality of Capdepera, about 80 kilometres from Palma. The water here is sparklingly clean and appears wonderfully light blue, making it the perfect place for swimming and to practise watersports. Well-connected by pedestrian paths to Cala Mesquida, and along the way you pass neighbouring Cala Moltó, frequented by naturists. Snack bar and a pay-to-park area. Take the Manacor road to Capdepera and then head for Cala Ratjada.
Cala Agulla is a large, white sand beach surrounded by beautiful, natural landscapes in the northeast. A relaxed beach offering water sports & boat trips.
The fine sandy beach of Portals Vells is particularly popular with locals and families. In the sandy bays with turquoise water there are numerous caves to explore. There is a kiosk offering snacks, a small restaurant, and sanitary facilities. Many big yachts visit this picturesque bay in summer. Only limited parking available.

Playa de Formentor is a lovely narrow beach, on the Formentor peninsula, is lined with pine trees. You’re always close to the clear sparkling water of the Mediterranean when you want to cool off, and the views across the Bay of Pollensa – with boats bobbing nearby – are dreamy. You can arrive here by boat from Puerto Pollensa or by car (stopping along the peninsula road to admire some spectacular scenery). The Barceló Hotel Formentor is located here.
A long stretch of white sand beach set along the dramatic landscapes of Cap Formentor, Playa de Formentor is a remote beach with amenities and great sailing.
Fine white sand, gentle sloping beach, and crystal clear water are three good reasons why Cala Santanyà is one of the best beaches on Mallorca’s southeast coast. The beach is overlooked by a handful of hotels and villas, while a long inlet is lined with rocks scattered with pine and juniper trees. It can get busy over the summer, but arrive early and you can snag one of the sun loungers. The likes of paddle boats and kayaks are also available for hire – don’t miss the dramatic stone sea arch just along the coast.
Cala Santanyi is a small resort and blue flag beach in the southeast of Mallorca. Family-friendly, crystal clear waters, good diving and snorkelling.
Set on the northeastern coast of the island, Playa de Canyamel stretches almost 300 metres along the low-key resort of the same name. Its golden sands extend from an estuary and wetland at one end, to rocky coastline backed by picturesque pine forest – where snorkelling conditions can be excellent. Onsite facilities are decent, with a beachfront restaurant, sun lounger rental, and watersport equipment hire.
Playa de Canyamel is a low-key, blue flag beach & resort town. In recent years more high end hotels & restaurants have opened adding a more exclusive vibe.
Surrounded by upscale hotels and luxury holiday homes, Playa de Camp de Mar is one of the more sophisticated resorts on the island. And its beach is suitably polished, with fine sand, lovely calm water, and picturesque views along the dramatic rocky coastline. A charming footbridge connects to ‘La Illeta’, a restaurant set on a tiny islet serving pretty decent food in a wonderful setting. Other beach facilities include plenty of loungers, a small playground and a couple of showers.

The small stony beach of Estellencs is a tranquil spot even during high season. It offers easy access to the adjoining rock caves with good diving, snorkelling and swimming. Our tip: fill your picnic basket and spend a summer evening at the beach – the sunsets are unrivalled!

If it’s a swathe of unspoilt coastline you’re after, there are few that match Es Carbó. Stretching for around a kilometre towards the southern-most tip of Mallorca, this totally undeveloped beach is backed by protected sand dunes and overlooks calm, clear and inviting waters. Its relative remoteness means it’s usually less crowded than similar Es Trenc beach, but expect a bit of a walk and be sure to pack plenty of provisions as you’ll find no facilities on the beach.
A beach for the adventurous spirit, Es Carbó is a 30-minute walk from the nearest town or anchor a boat and enjoy the solitude of this unique location.
The magnificent Cala Mesquida bay lies six kilometres to the north of Cala Ratjada and its open views make it one of the most beautiful in the north-east of the island. It has various facilities for beach visitors. A watchtower atop a small mountain looks down over the more built-up end of the beach. The fine white sands make it great for relaxing or walking, and this is one of the few beaches where surfers can often catch a wave.
Cala Mesquida is a beautiful, white sand beach and quiet resort village in the northeast near Capdepera and Arta. A great beach to dive or snorkel.
The stretch of beach between Cala Millor and Cala Bona is sandy and one of the best on the east coast of Mallorca. It is a kilometre-and-a-half long and backed by a promenade perfect for walking, cycling, browsing the gift shops or taking refreshments in one of the many cafés, bars or restaurants. This promenade will take you all the way to the fishing harbour at Cala Bona. The sea is initially shallow and quite safe – appropriate for children.
