Together with his wife,\u00a0Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Chopin<\/strong>\u00a0spent a winter in Mallorca. He stayed in the\u00a0cells of the Valldemossa Charterhouse.<\/strong>\u00a0These can still be visited, and there is even a piano where Chopin composed some of his masterpieces.<\/p>\n

During that period, his wife,\u00a0George Sand<\/strong>, wrote a book known as\u00a0A Winter in Mallorca<\/strong>. In it she speaks autobiographically about\u00a0Mallorca<\/strong>, the customs of the place and the Mallorcans.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0Valldemossa<\/strong>\u00a0you will also find other very special places. One of them is the house where Mallorca\u2019s only saint was born and raised:\u00a0Santa Catalina Tom\u00e1s.<\/strong>\u00a0And another of the things you have to do before leaving\u00a0Valldemossa<\/strong>\u00a0is to try its potato cakes.
