Gallery Red

Gallery Red presents a dynamic collection of contemporary art and iconic design a short walk from the Paseo Borne and Plaza del Mercat. Founder Drew Aaron is an avid collector of work by well-established and emerging artists and the gallery reflects his discerning taste. There are paintings by Basquiat, prints by Warhol and sculptures by Calder.  In addition to their 20 exhibition spaces across Spain, Gallery RED have opened a brand new space in Palma. ‘Exhibition’ is the latest showroom to open under the Gallery RED label which will be dedicated to only solo and group exhibitions. Gallery Red is also a luxury lifestyle store where visitors can buy exclusive vintage furniture. The gallery identifies with the words of Takashi Murakami: “Japanese people accept that art and commerce will be blended; and in fact, they are surprised by the rigid and pretentious Western hierarchy of “high art’”.⁠

Rialto Living

Palma’s beautiful lifestyle store Rialto Living dedicates the light-filled upstairs gallery to regularly changing art exhibits. Every month the space is transformed by the works of national and international artists. Their medium ranges widely from photography, collages, water colours, lithographs and sculptures. Rialto Living selects art which can be easily introduced into a home with many small and medium-sized works available. Aside from the art Rialto Living promotes creativity in its textiles, furnishings and household decorations. It also sells ethically-made fashion and gifts. The 15th century building has a traditional patio where the store’s café can be found.

In the Gallery

In the Gallery is a contemporary art gallery with two locations in the centre of Palma, one on Calle Can Veri (old town) and the other one on Plaza de la Porta de Santa Catalina. The Gallery exhibits photographic artists who present innovative Scandinavian-style art, and some of the most prominent artists that have exhibited at In the Gallery are as Søren Solkær, Jacob Gils or Lea Jessen.

Ahoy! Art Gallery

Owners Renate and Michael Pentzien share their self-proclaimed optimism through a collection of bright and bold contemporary art. Ahoy! Art Gallery is located just off Avenida Jaime III between the restaurants Fera and Aromata. Internationally acclaimed artists and emerging talent are represented on their walls in paintings, photography and sculpture.


Casal Solleric

Casal Solleric is a former town palace and now cultural centre situated along Paseo Borne close to Jaime III Avenue. It belongs to Palma’s City Council. Throughout the year it hosts several different expositions within its four main spaces. Both internationally recognised artists as well as lesser known local artists can be found here. Casal Solleric provides an opportunity to step away from the buzz of shoppers into a space of quiet contemplation of paintings, photography and sculpture.

Pelaires

Miró, Picasso, Tàpies, Calder and Chillida are just a few of the great artists who have passed through this gallery founded in 1969 by Pep Pinya. Today it continues to exhibit and represent top contemporary artists from around the world. Expositions change every two to three months. Pelaires also promotes young and mid-career artists. The gallery is located along the narrow and historic Can Verí, which is also home to Galeria K.


Kewenig Gallery

Kewenig was established in 1989 and has galleries in Palma and Berlin. Their gallery in Palma is housed in the 13th century Sant Feliu Oratory just off the Paseo Borne. The ancient building provides a prestigious canvas for a broad range of local and international artist. Kewenig is keen to share the artists’ creative process via their Studio Sessions on Instagram. The gallery borders the vibrant La Lonja neighbourhood. On the same street is Rialto Living and Gerhardt Braun Gallery.


Gerhardt Braun Gallery

This eye-catching gallery is located a short distance from Kewenig and Rialto Living. It’s hard to miss since it’s housed in an attractive town palace with intact historic architectural features. Vivid colours and an interplay of textures characterise many of the arresting paintings, sculpture and intriguing installations.


ABA ART LAB

This small well-lit gallery is situated in Plaza Porta Santa Catalina, a short distance from the Es Baluard Museum of Modern Art. It is directed by sisters Alejandra and Isabel María Bordoy Bennàsar. They represent a broad range of international and cultural diverse artists. Aba Art Lab also curates collections for private clients, corporate firms and luxury brands. They are behind the inspired arrangement of contemporary art at MediterAsian restaurant Fera near Avenida Jaime III.


Fundación Joan March

The most important Spanish vanguard artists of the 20th century can be found within the Fundación Joan March. The handsome 18th century building provides an unexpected free to enter artistic refuge along the busy Calle San Miguel. There are works by Picasso, Joan Miró, Juan Gris and Salvador Dalí. The temporary exhibition rooms bring together work by national and international contemporary artist with a common theme. Seminars, lectures and concerts are organised here each month and there is a research library.

Galería K

Galeria K is a bright and uplifting space located along Can Verí, which is also the address of Gallery Pelaires. It was originally opened as a partner gallery of the German Galerie Kaschenbach established in Trier in 1950. Owner Daniel Marx is from the third generation of the Kaschenbach family and is dedicated to bringing significant works of international contemporary art to the Palma gallery.
