From young holiday-makers to yachting millionaires and everyone in between, you will find a bar to suit. The capital city Palma is the main hub as it is lively all year round, but the beach resorts provide plenty of bar and club choices when they come alive in the summer months.<\/span><\/p>\n<article>Every village in Mallorca has a place for a drink, either a bar or restaurant usually set around the main square where you can enjoy refreshments with the locals. But if you are looking for something more lively, you&#8217;ll need to head to one of the larger towns or resorts. The party can start as early or as late as you like, with beach clubs servicing the early starters and the night clubs keeping the party people happy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Palma &#8211; Year-Round Partying<\/strong><br \/>\nA city bursting with life 365 days of the year,\u00a0Palma\u00a0offers something for everyone when it comes to nightlife.\u00a0 Take a stroll around the Old Town, La Llonja and Santa Catalina to find the liveliest places, you&#8217;ll stumble upon an abundance of local haunts that are open seven days a week. In the summertime, you cannot miss the buzz from the Paseo Mar\u00edtimo down by the marina, with music blaring out from the mile-long stretch of bars and crowds of people overflowing onto the streets. There are also a number of British, Germans and Swedish in the city, so you have plenty of opportunities to rub shoulders with fellow expats if this is what you want. Palma is also home to many yacht crews (or \u2018yachties\u2019) who keep the bars alive throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>Palma Old Town is generally considered to be the area around the cathedral, up to Placa d&#8217;Espanya. This area consists mainly of shops, but there are some neighbourhoods that you should explore if you are looking for bars that the Spanish frequent. There are some decent\u00a0cocktail bars\u00a0around Placa Mercat, whilst more authentic bars like\u00a0Bar Espana\u00a0and\u00a0Molta Barra\u00a0are up by Placa Major. You&#8217;ll get some good tapas in these bars too.<\/p>\n<p>In La Llonja, across Passeig Borne from the cathedral, there is a wider selection of international style bars. The tiny pedestrianised streets of Carrer de Jaume Ferrer, Sant Joan, La Llotja and Apuntadors are filled with small, independent bars with quirky interiors and friendly bar staff. It&#8217;s worth exploring these alleys and seeing what you stumble upon.\u00a0El Neo Gastro Bar\u00a0has some of the best cocktails in the city, whilst\u00a0Opio\u00a0has DJ&#8217;s and a party vibe.\u00a0Bar Abaco\u00a0should also be on your bucket list, it&#8217;s one of Palma\u2019s most illustrious bars famous for its beautiful courtyard setting.\u00a0Agua\u00a0is a Palma institution and hosts regular live rock music nights. Just up from here is Placa Drassana which is lined with bars and restaurants and is popular with yacht crews. For a quieter more sophisticated experience you will find more than enough classy cocktail lounges and patios within the boutique hotels in the area.\u00a0De Tokio a Lima Restaurant &amp; Bar, located inside\u00a0Can Alomar Boutique Hotel\u00a0on the famous shopping street Passeig des Born, is a great choice, as are\u00a0Sant Francesc Hotel\u00a0and\u00a0Tres Boutique Hotel.<\/p>\n<p>Another hot spot for nightlife in Palma is Santa Catalina. This district is just across Avinguda Argentina and has a great selection of international bars and restaurants. This is where you will find locals and expats alike overflowing onto the streets outside of\u00a0LAB\u00a0Cocktail Bar,\u00a0La\u00a0Havana\u00a0Club\u00a0and\u00a0Hostal Cuba Bar, all within walking distance of each other. There are many bars in the area that offer quirky d\u00e9cor and innovative drinks menus, try\u00a0Vintage Santa Catalina Cafe &amp; Bar\u00a0or\u00a0Chakra\u00a0Bar. Special mention to\u00a0Ginbo, the original and best Gin Bar in Palma, you&#8217;ll find it at the top of Avinguda Jaume III.<\/p>\n<p>The bars in the old town tend to stay open until 1am or 2am, so if you are looking to extend your night, you&#8217;ll have to head down towards the marina.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beach Resorts &#8211; Summertime Fun<\/strong><br \/>\nMallorca&#8217;s beach resorts liven up during the summer months. Within the\u00a0notorious area of Magaluf\u00a0in the south-west of the island, you will find streets lined with bars and clubs geared for those looking to party at all hours of the day and night during the peak holiday season. Whilst Magaluf is going through a revamp to transform it into a family-friendly resort, there are still enough bars to keep people coming back for more.\u00a0S&#8217;Arenal (or Playa de Palma)\u00a0is also a hotspot for night owls looking for a party in the summer months, attracting mainly the German youth.\u00a0Port d&#8217;Alcudia\u00a0in the north is probably the liveliest place in the area to play at night. There&#8217;s a good selection of restaurants by the marina and a complex of music bars and nightclubs that are popular with visitors on Avinguda Tucan. Some of the other, smaller beach resorts such as Cala Ratjada, Santa Ponsa and Colonia St Jordi also have late bars and clubs that will keep you satisfied for one or two nights of your holiday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marinas &amp; Ports &#8211; Luxury Nightlife<\/strong><br \/>\nSome of the smarter marinas are bustling places to be during the summer months and tend to host the better quality restaurants and bars. The harbours provide a beautiful backdrop to dining al fresco. After dinner, you&#8217;ll find just enough late-night bars with the odd dancefloor to keep visitors of all ages entertained.\u00a0Port Adriano,\u00a0Puerto Portals,\u00a0Cala d&#8217;Or,\u00a0Port de Soller\u00a0and\u00a0Port d&#8217;Andratx\u00a0fall into this category.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fiestas &amp; Festivals &#8211; Summer Parties<\/strong><br \/>\nDuring the summer, many of the resorts and villages hold fiestas, and during these, there is generally one or two nights dedicated to live music, parties and fireworks. These are great fun and should form part of your holiday experience! Look out for any fiestas that are on during your stay by checking our\u00a0Events Calendar when you arrive.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"var_3010\">Sunset &amp; early evening<\/h4>\n<p>If you&#8217;re someone who likes to quench your thirst from the luxury of a comfy lounger or sunbed throughout the afternoon and into the early evening sunshine, then head to one of Mallorca&#8217;s beach bars or beach clubs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Palma &amp; Playa de Palma<\/strong><br \/>\nPalma has some great spots for pre-dinner cocktails with a view. Head to\u00a0Es Baluard Museum\u00a0Bar or the\u00a0Sky Bar above Hostal Cuba\u00a0for a\u00a0luxury feel and fantastic scenery as they overlook Palma Marina. These two bars, located a stone&#8217;s throw away from the marina, attract a mixture of clientele but certainly offer an exclusive feel. For a closer peek at the magnificent superyachts why not try\u00a0Chiliss\u00a0No.3 Bar &amp; Restaurant\u00a0or the more elegant, yet pricey,\u00a0Port Blanc Restaurant &amp; Bar? Just along the coast from Palma towards Playa de Palma, you will find\u00a0Purobeach Club\u00a0and\u00a0Anima Beach Club, for that beach club vibe. Playa de Palma itself is a lively resort hosting a couple of places where you can sip on cocktails throughout the afternoon.\u00a0Nova Beach Park\u00a0has a\u00a0mini golf\u00a0course if you want to try your hand at mini golf in the glowing evening sunlight. To escape\u00a0the masses\u00a0for\u00a0a quiet paradise setting head to the luxury yet inconspicuous\u00a0Mhares\u00a0Sea Club\u00a0which is further east from Playa de Palma.<\/p>\n<p><strong>South-west Mallorca<\/strong><br \/>\nHeading away from Palma along the western coastline there are a variety of sun-drenched beach bars and beach clubs to visit.\u200b\u00a0Cala Major beach resort, just to the west of Palma, has a couple of popular beach hut style bars.\u00a0Zhero\u00a0Beach Club, whilst not on the beach, has its own swimming pool, DJ and cocktails. The creators of Purobeach have opened a\u00a0new beach club in Illetes\u00a0which has a lovely setting right on the sea front.\u00a0The\u00a0Balneario Illetas beachside restaurant\u00a0is also here and is a convenient spot to sip on a cocktail whilst the sun is setting.\u00a0In the prestigious area around\u00a0Puerto Portals, you will find the relaxed\u00a0Roxy\u2019s Beach Bar\u00a0set amongst the rocks at the end of Portals Beach. Also by Puerto Portals is\u00a0Mood Beach Club,\u00a0one of the most exclusive beach clubs on the island that attracts visitors year round.<\/p>\n<p>Palma Nova\u00a0has the best of both worlds with beach hut\u00a0Il\u00a0Chiringo\u00a0Beach Bar &amp; Restaurant\u00a0and the sassier\u00a0Chi Lounge Bar.\u00a0Magaluf\u00a0hosts the world famous\u00a0Nikki Beach Club, a hotspot where the rich and famous come to enjoy luxury service and entertainment. The signature Nikki Beach experience with theatrical displays and impeccable service have made this one of the most renowned beach clubs on the island. For a surfer vibe, head to\u00a0Wave House Mallorca\u00a0which has a Flow Rider artificial wave machine where you can learn to surf like a pro, or just sit and watch others whilst you relax in one of the chill-out areas. Alternatively,\u00a0Oceans Beach Club and the\u00a0BCM Hotel\u00a0are the hot spots in the area, offering a lively atmosphere without the hefty price tag.<\/p>\n<p>Port Adriano\u2019s\u00a0Coast Restaurant &amp; Bar\u00a0has its own intimate and exclusive beach club with a swimming pool, cocktails and sun loungers. Further up the western coast, near\u00a0Port\u00a0d\u2019Andratx, resides the\u00a0Gran Folies Beach Club\u00a0in\u00a0Cala Llamp\u00a0a well-established beach club with an affluent and loyal following.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alc\u00fadia Bay<\/strong><br \/>\nHeading north into\u00a0the Bay of Alc\u00fadia,\u00a0Ponderosa Beach Club\u00a0stands out from the crowd along\u00a0Playa de Muro\u00a0thanks to its driftwood beach bar vibe.\u00a0Royal Beach Bar &amp; Restaurant is the place to visit for a more sophisticated yet trendy experience with its restaurant and lounge bar.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"var_3011\">Late nights<\/h4>\n<p>The Spanish like to party. As a rule, the party-goers on the island head to clubs well after midnight and can be found dancing until the sun rises the next morning.\u00a0Whether you are 18 years old or in retirement, sometimes you just fancy taking your evening to the next level. So, if you are looking for a big night out, here are some of the places you should head to in Mallorca.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Palma Nightclubs<\/strong><br \/>\nDuring the summer, most of Palma\u2019s bars in the Old Town will open until around 2am. If you find yourself wanting to then go dancing the night away then head to Santa\u00a0Catalina or down to the\u00a0marina. Santa Catalina\u00a0has several bars and clubs that open until 5am,\u00a0try La Demence for clubbing, Kaelum for classic party tunes, or Brooklyn Club for DJ mixes. Down by the marina along the Paseo Mar\u00edtimo there is a good selection of nightclubs, so look out for the kind of music they are playing that evening to see if it suits your party. For a more casual bar-club atmosphere with cheaper drinks, go to the small marina of Can<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Barbara, just up the road from Tito&#8217;s club.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Garito Cafe Bar\u00a0and Made in Brasil both also located here and might be just the places for you. These establishments are also open throughout the winter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Magaluf &amp; Playa de Palma<\/strong><br \/>\nPlaces like\u00a0Magaluf\u00a0and Playa de Palma attract the\u00a0youngsters\u00a0thanks to the densely populated area of bars and clubs selling cheap drinks and hosting themed party nights. Megapark is worth a visit if you find yourself in Playa de Palma (S&#8217;Arenal).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Puerto Portals &amp; Port Adriano<\/strong><br \/>\nThe ports are great destinations for a late night. It is a common occurrence for people to hit the terraced bars of\u00a0Key West\u00a0and\u00a0Ritzi\u00a0after an evening meal in the glamorous marina of\u00a0Puerto Portals.\u00a0Port Adriano\u00a0has a few chilled-out bars and its own nightclub,\u00a0Uppereast, a place to rub shoulders with visiting megayacht owners.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Port d&#8217;Andratx &amp; Port de Pollen\u00e7a<\/strong><br \/>\nPort d\u2019Andratx\u00a0has more of a Spanish feel and encompasses a few late night bars as well as\u00a0Barracuda nightclub, a typical Spanish discoteca. Late night bars are the way to go in\u00a0Port de Pollen\u00e7a, although many find themselves guilty of being on\u00a0the dancefloor in Chivas\u00a0at the end of the evening.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deia &amp; Port de Soller<\/strong><br \/>\nYou may not expect the idyllic village of\u00a0Deia\u00a0to have much of a nightife, and you&#8217;d be right, but there is a bar here that is renowned for it&#8217;s impromtu\u00a0parties and live music sessions &#8211; Sa Fonda. It has a lovely outdoor terrace overlooking the main street and stays open late if the crowd is right. A newcomer to Deia is Nama Bar. It&#8217;s been designed by Matthew Williamson and serves sophisticated cocktails in sexy surroundings.\u00a0Port de Soller\u00a0has plenty of bars and restaurants that follow the beach promenade around the bay. One of these restaurants, Altamar, has a club that&#8217;s open on selected dates and through the summer season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cala d&#8217;Or &amp; Colonia de Sant Jordi<\/strong><br \/>\nIn Cala D\u2019Or, Faras nightclub has enough going on to keep the locals and tourists equally happy. Laos Club in\u00a0Col\u00f2nia Sant Jordi\u00a0is set in a three-storey modern complex and provides a more sophisticated vibe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cala Millor &amp; Manacor<\/strong><br \/>\nThe east coast of the island is not so famous for its nightlife. If you find yourself in\u00a0Cala Millor,\u00a0La Havana Nightclub\u00a0is the place to let loose and throw some shapes.
