Central Palma

The long, narrow shopping street San Miguel leading from calle Olmos near Plaza España to Plaza Mayor and the nearby streets is where you will find the traditional, local shops of yesteryear. To truly experience shopping in Palma you need to pass through this street until you arrive at Plaza Cort. Ladies will find a great selection of leather shoes made in Spain as well as exclusive boutiques and some well-known brand stores. Calle Quint is known amongst many Mallorcans as ‘the street with the stupid stairs’ (las escaleras tontas), as you never know whether to take the steps one, two or three at a time – which unfortunately means you spend most of your time looking down rather than taking in lovely shop windows of places such as Pasatiempos, La Industrial toy shop, and La Pajarita.
